Sky Gossiper listens to bird songs, identifies the species, and turns the sighting into an episode of a fictional neighborhood soap opera. The identifications are real. The drama is not. The birds said nothing of the sort.
How it works
Bird identification runs on BirdNET, the open-source model from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Chemnitz University of Technology, via the birdnetlib package. Episodes are written by Gemini. Detection counts feed the Territory Wars board.
Fine print
BirdNET models are licensed CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (non-commercial). This app is free and will stay that way. The neighborhood state resets when this Space restarts, which the residents experience as collective amnesia and have learned to accept.
